Century 21 Real Estate Corporation, the "Official Real Estate Organization of Major League Baseball," has awarded $250,000 to Tommy" Knepp of Spring Mills, PA $250,000 toward the purchase of a new home in their third CENTURY 21 Home Run Derby All-Star Sweepstakes.
More than 250,000 consumers entered the contest through the company's web site and through displays at C21 offices nationwide. The winner was determined during the 2001 Major League Baseball(R) (MLB) All-Star Week events in Seattle from July 9-13, 2001. Eight randomly selected contestants were awarded a trip to the All-Stars event. Each of the contestants was randomly matched to "sluggers" who dueled for the 2001 Home Run Derby title.
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Luis Gonzalez reigned victorious Thomas "Tommy" Knepp of Spring Mills, PA won $250,000 toward the purchase of a new home. Sammy Sosa, of the Chicago Cubs, helped Knoxville, Tennessee resident James Ellis win a 2001 Pontiac Firebird convertible.
